Karen Torley of Banyan Theatre developed together with Derry-based dancer Zoe Ramsay a new childrens theatre work, The Fisherman and the Mermaid, combining puppetry, dance, music and storytelling for audiences aged 411.The Story
When a lonely Fisherman encounters a Mermaid, he is whisked away on a magical journey beneath the waves. However, this is more than just an underwater adventure; the Fisherman must discover the truth behind the ocean's tears and find out why the sea has become so sad.This environmental tale is brought to life through a rich blend of:Puppetry: Handcrafted characters that breathe life into the story.
