James Jackson

From the school of Damien Rice + Jeff Buckley, Jackson has architected a raw and commanding performance style that has relentlessly stunned audiences across UK tours and Sofar Sounds shows.

The 23-year-old is a graduate of the prestigious Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and was winner of the universities Paul McCartney Songwriting Session.

Jackson was commended by the Beatle for being a brilliant lyricist.Last summer saw Jackson release his self titled EP.

The record features tracks such as his single Sophia, a lumineers-style ballad recounting an intense failed love affair.

Babe This Isnt August showcases his raw, personal songwriting style, with its instrumentation echoing that of influences Pinegrove & Big Thief.

Both tracks were supported by Dave Monks at BBC Introducing in Merseyside.
