Masterclass: Speed Reserve

Speed Reserve Masterclass - Why top end speed wins races
Develop the speed that makes race pace easierAP Race is proud to introduce a new learning experience within our amazing community, AP Race Masterclasses. With a maximum capacity of 30 swimmers per session, this opportunity has been meticulously designed for swimmers who want to go beyond participation and truly understand performance. Each Masterclass explores a specific performance theme, allowing swimmers to develop clarity around why they are doing something, not just what to do.Whilst endurance plays a significant role in performance, maximum speed capacity often underpins race success. This Masterclass focuses on developing top-end speed and understanding how pure velocity influences overall efficiency and pacing. Swimmers will work on acceleration, stroke sharpness and power application through short, high-quality efforts. The technical focus remains central, ensuring that speed is supported by clean mechanics rather than tension or inefficiency.By increasing maximum velocity, swimmers often find that race pace feels more controlled and sustainable. This Masterclass reframes speed development as a foundation for long-term progression, not just sprinting ability. Joining you on poolside will be our very own Head Coach, Will Bell and our experienced support coaches to ensure you get the very best out of the session. Please note, in order to attend this masterclass, you must be aged 8-17 years old, and part of a competitive swimming club. Age is based off the day of the masterclass you wish to attend. Spaces at each Masterclass are limited and the whole booking process will take place through Ticket Source, our Race Clinics booking partner.
