A programme on the lighter side, working with jazz piano and string bass in music by George Shearing (his famous Songs and Sonnets of the late Nineties), John Rutter's swinging Birthday Madrigals, Jaako Mantyjarvi's evocative Four Shakespeare Songs and other Elizabethan settings for solo voice by Arthur Young (previously recorded by jazz vocal legend Cleo Laine).
