Hanan is a Welsh-Iraqi writer, filmmaker, and artist. Her work spans multiple disciplines, including poetry, essay and prose, theatre, film, and animation. In 2025 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Bangor University. She was the 2023 Hay International Fellow and is the current National Poet of Wales until 2027.A bit about Natalie
Natalie founded Boss & Brew Academy, a Cardiff-based social enterprise that works with young people facing barriers to employment. The Academy uses coffee to boost confidence, build belonging, and raise aspirations. Natalie is passionate about creating accessible pathways into the industry, particularly for young people from Cardiff's Southern Arc and those currently underrepresented in specialty coffee.
