Kirkbymoorside Gateway to the Moors Music Festival

Situated on the edge of the stunning North York Moors, the Kirkbymoorside Gateway to the Moors Music Festival will take place at venues across the historic market town on the Yorkshire Day weekend.There are around 40 events in indoor and outdoor locations covering a wide variety of musical genres by established and emerging artists, including Soul, Acoustic, Rock, Pop, Brass, Country, Folk, Choral, Disco, Bollywood, Orchestral, Jazz, Contemporary, Rockabilly and 60s, 70s and 80s.This unique Music Festival has something for everyone, whatever you taste in music, the whole family will find something they will enjoy, with many free events, including some street performances.

A mixture of ticketed, free and ‘make a donation’ sessions, all the venues are within easy walking distance of each other and visitors will love the welcoming community atmosphere.This year’s Festival will include extra active participation events including Bollywood and Line Dance classes, musical instrument lessons and a Cèilidh, as well as a return of the popular children’s disco.

The Kirkbymoorside History Group are again hosting guided walking tours and will open the doors to secret places you’d never find without them.Alongside renowned singer / songwriter Boo Hewerdine and fabulous UK band the Maestros, there will be many great Yorkshire bands (e.g.

Kirkby Soul), singers (e.g.

John Drakes) and dancers (e.g.400 Roses) performing, as well as the famous Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band - what better way to celebrate our special county on Yorkshire Day!
