Hearing from writers, musicians, artists, superfans, photographers, filmmakers and everyday music lovers, we dive into personal stories, esoteric bands, fan communities, punk, pop, social change and much more.
It's organised and hosted by journalist and documentary filmmaker Jak Hutchcraft.Guest speakers:Daniel Mudford- Dan has been making electronic music since he was 15 years old.
As well as being a member of wilfully obscure groups including The Sons of Silence and O Yuki Conjugate, he spent the 90s and early 2000s composing music for TV and films, most notably Shaun Of The Dead.
He has also made over 400 documentaries, shorts and experimental films for everyone from the BBC and MTV to his own bad self.
These days, he releases music via Bandcamp as The Bionics and Daniel Mudford of Balham.Atiya Gourlay - Born in Lahore but a resident of Brighton & Hove since the late 80s.
With a passion for arts and culture, with a particular focus on facilitating diversity in the arts, Atiya was inspired to set upThe Mehfil Space CIC [https://www.instagram.com/mehfilspace/] 18 months ago.
Since the first gig at The Rose Hill, the event series has continued to offer south Asian classical music for small audiences in intimate venues in Brighton and beyond.
Atiyas aim is to bring south Asian classical music to a wider audience.Bobby Brown - Creative producer, manager and cultural strategist working across arts and music, community and innovation.
He's worked with Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn, FACESOUL, Tinie Tempah & Wiz Kid.
Recently, he worked as the strategic lead on Gilles Petersons Future Bubblers programme and is currently leading LighthousesFuture Creative Leaders [https://www.lighthouse.org.uk/projects/future-creative-leaders] programme.
