Festival Event: Elizabeth Delo - Writing Workshop: Captivating Characters

A compelling protagonist is the beating heart of a good story. Creating a character that your readers believe in and care about means they will want to follow them to the very last page. In this workshop you will be guided through a series of exercises to help you create memorable, three-dimensional characters and begin to identify their motivations, desires and fears. You will learn about the shape of stories, giving you the tools to build a convincing character and develop their narrative.
This workshop is suitable for all levels, from beginners to more experienced writers.Elizabeth Delo is an award-winning writer with an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University. Her debut novel, Becoming Liz Taylor, published by Atlantic Books, won Best English Language Debut at the 'Festival du Premier Roman' in Chambery, France. She is a teacher and has worked as an editor of fiction and non-fiction.
