Cardiff Cotswold Opera presents Arias for the Defence, a playful concert bringing together some of operas most memorable arias, duets and ensembles with the irreverent one act comedy of Gilbert & Sullivans Trial by Jury.Step into the courtroom and meet four operatic lawyers whose cases range from Don Giovanni's latest harassment accusation to Figaro newest brush with inheritance Fraud. As professional composure begins to unravel, expect plenty of musical evidence and some highly questionable legal advice.At the centre of the evening is Gilbert & Sullivans 'Trial by Jury' -a fabulous one act opera all about the fickle legal system-, performed in collaboration with a chorus of the fabulous Thames Head SingersWhether you are a lifelong opera lover or completely new to the art form, Arias for the Defence offers an entertaining and accessible evening of live opera, combining great music with comedy and theatrical storytelling.Presented by Cardiff Cotswold Opera in collaboration with the Thames Head Singers.
