The Utopia Strong

The Utopia Strong are a semi-modular trio, delivering medical grade music to the visionary music heads composed of previous World Champion snooker player Steve Davis, torchbearer, guitarist and psychedelic-pop tunesmith Kavus Torabi [Gong, The Cardiacs] and multi-instrumentalist and luthier, Michael York.The band were born on the evening of 2nd January 2018 after an experimental and revelatory improvised session where the soon to be unit fused modular synthesisers with conventional and traditional instruments to create a weird and joyous celebration of all that is good about leftfield psychedelic music.Their shows are a fully immersive, otherworldly exploration where the listener is invited to tune out to tune in and join the band on their continually evolving, improvised explorations.Hand-picked to open Bath Fringe Festival 2027 in kosmiche style, this their Bath debut promises to be a mesmerising evening not to be forgotten. For maximum immersion, this will be a seated show in the intimate and newly refurbished setting of the Rondo Theatre.
