Rachel LoveRachel Love is founding member of the seminal late-70's/early-80s band Dolly Mixture who were signed to Paul Weller's Respond label and championed by the Undertones and John Peel. Her own solo work follows along similar lines as her former group, with her distinct songwriting and melodies, she has released several albums on her own, as well as collaborations with Martin Newell (Cleaners From Venus) as The Light Music Company, and new group, Railcard (featuring members of Talulah Gosh, Heavenly, Razorcuts, and Swansea Sound).Exploding FlowersExploding Flowers are a Los Angeles, California quartet who have crafter their own universe of guitar-based pop, with flourishes of piano, organ, synthesizers, and vibraphone on top of a
foundational rhythm section. Led by Sharif Dumani who has worked with a variety of artists which include Alice Bag, Cody Chesnutt, Sex Stains, The Moon Upstairs, Classics Of Love, Nick Garrie, Nikki Sudden, Chris D. (Flesh Eaters, Divine Horsemen), Silver Apples, etc., the quartet is comprised of members Josh Mancell (The Moon Upstairs, CellBorg), Happy Tsugawa-Banta (Lassie Foundation, Ray Barbee), and Mark Sogomian (The Moon Upstairs). With three albums, an EP, and an upcoming fourth album on Meritorio Records, they have been compared to everything from Big Star to the Soft Boys, and L.A.'s Paisley Underground to New Zealand's 1980's-era Flying Nun Records guitar pop groups. Exploding Flowers explore some similar territory but expand to occupy their own space in that landscape.TelecomAre a Brighton based band with influences from the Kinks and the Left Banke through to Stereolab and Belle and Sebastianpsychedelic vocal harmonies, post punk/indie-pop riffs, whooshing modular synthsa hazy yet angular take on the 60's
