At its heart lies a dialogue between past and present: the virtuosity and drama of Tartinis Devils Trill Sonata , the elegance of Corellis La Folia , and the vivid scene-painting of Bibers Sonata Representativa are set alongside original works by jazz pianist and composer David Gordon and violinist David Le Page, including Bebop Tango and The Alchemist and the Catflap .Drawing on jazz, folk and Balkan influences as well as free improvisation, this performance, featuring violin, cello and piano, celebrates the shared creative energy that unites Baroque musicians and contemporary improvisers.
