2 Day Stone Carving Workshop

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October
10am-4pmTutor Charlotte Howarth from Abraxas Academy and Making-Marks has created this two day introduction to stone carving/ letter carving course for people to produce a small relief carving either for the garden or the home. You will receive all practical advice as to what is possible over the two days, dependent on your experience and skill level.No previous experience is required, people of all skill levels are welcome to attend.
All tools and materials will be provided. (Goggles and masks will be provided, but if you have your own, please do bring them along. An apron, smock or old 'messy' clothing is advisable)
You will need to bring your own lunch and snacks
This workshop is suitable for 18+ year olds onlyCharlotte has been carving stone and lettering for almost 40 years. Her work is in St. Pauls Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Ripon Cathedral. She has worked on major commissions in the UK and Ireland and has many years teaching experience. She believes teaching should be a fun and relaxed experience for everyone in her classes. She gently encourages her students to step out of their comfort zone and create works that they didnt realise they had the confidence or ability to make.
