When the residents of Sunshine Retirement Village hear the news that the council are to end their rates rebate the decided to make a stand. Pushed along by ex trade-union firebrand Shirley and flatulent former car salesman Howie, the residents decide to remove themselves for the rest of the country and set up their own independant state under the UN Charter, so the council can't tax them.
With the help of retired farmer Doug, the new misteriously hansome resident, and trying to be the voice of reason, the level headed Patricia they plot to construct a home made bomb and blow up a council tree. Ka-Boom!With the emergency services out in full the media jump on board and with the help of the young aspiring newcaster Ashley, the story goes viral and the revolution becomes unstoppable.This rollicking comedy clevely explores attitudes to senior citizens in our communities, while trating the audience to an evening of hilaroius comedy.
