Brasilia of the North

Meet at the Civic Centre, Ceremonial Way and finish at the Quayside.In the early 1960s the Leader of the Council, T Dan Smiths vision was to make Newcastle the Brasilia of the North, a renewed city, the envy of others. This walk looks at the significant landmarks in the history of the citys regeneration during the last 60 years.The route includes some steep slopes and some uneven ground.
