Steve Buckley - alto sax, Mike Outram - guitar, Valere Speranza - bass, Jem Fatna - drumsThe latest project from highly acclaimed saxophonist and composer Steve Buckley, who after many years on the London scene has now relocated to Devon and has formed this new group from players based in the area.Steve Buckley has been a significant contributor to the UK jazz scene for over thirty years.

He was an original member of the ground breaking big band Loose Tubes going on to perform and record with many of the UK's top jazz players nationally and internationally, as well as leading his own projects.

He is probably best known for his collaborations with trumpeter Chris Batchelor, their award winning 2005 album Big Air being considered "the best UK jazz album for 20 years" by Brian Morton in Jazz Journal, and '..as funky and unbuttoned as a chimp on acid' by Chris May in All About Jazz.Steve is joined by another major force in UK jazz, guitarist Mike Outram, who has also been dividing his time between London and Devon.

Mike's work spans jazz, contemporary improvised music, and progressive music.

Known for his distinctive and exploratory approach to improvisation, he has performed and recorded with artists including Donny McCaslin, Tim Garland, Gwilym Simcock, Nikki Iles, Martin Speake, Trish Clowes, Till Bronner, Steven Wilson, Laura Rossi, Norma Winstone, and Herbie Mann.

He has appeared on more than 150 recordings.Bristol audiences will probably remember French bassist Valere Speranza from his time in the city before he moved south a few years ago.Drummer Jean Emmanuel Fatna was raised in Martinique and French Guiana.

His sound and approach to music have been influenced by his Afro-Caribbean and Amazonian heritage, as well as his time living and playing music in New York and Paris.Expect to hear groove-oriented original material reflecting Steve's long-standing and deep connection with African and Latin American music all imbued with a contemporary jazz attitude.Videos: The Wizard Hand Go Hand Come
