Phil Bates - A Farewell

By 2027, guitarist/singer, Phil Bates, will have been treading the boards for more than 60 years, first as a member of teenage band, The TEENBEATS, then with QUILL, moving on to ELO PT2 in the 1990s, via DONT PANIC with wife, Jo, and AOR band, ATLANTIC.In the 1970s, Phils band, TRICKSTER, was special guest on the famous ELO SPACESHIP TOUR of the world, thus establishing Phils connection with the music of ELO.Since 2003, THE PHIL BATES BAND has toured many parts of the world playing the music of ELO as a band, with string section, and with full orchestra to great acclaim.All this, alongside Phils solo tours and albums has led up to his farewell performance as a solo artist at the Malvern Cube on Saturday April 3rd 2027.
Phil will be playing music that has been important and influential over his whole life - Beatles, ELO, Blues, Folk, expected and rarer choices from his solo career, plus many of his interpretations of songs from the great British and American songbooks.Phils greatest love has always been songs.Plus, there will be guest appearances by some of the great people and musicians Phil has played with over the past 60 years.
