Welcome to Boston's 2nd International Theatre Festival.Two world-class comedians for only 5!
Vlad Ilich and RaduVlad Ilich is a Macedonian comic based in London. He's not British, he's Macedonian, but he won British Comedian of the Year 2025. He's not Russian, he's Macedonian, but he does kinda share a first name with Mr Putin. He's not Russian, he's Macedonian. In Italy that's a fruit salad.Vlad has been doing comedy for eight years, in three languages, in the UK and abroad. He has performed stand-up on BBC Three and BBC One, and won awards in legendary comedy club competitions at The Comedy Store and Up The Creek. So, you see, Vlad isn't Russian, he's Macedonian. In the UK, people assume it's where Macadamia nuts come from. People think that the UK and Macedonia have nothing in common but we are both former kingdoms who really messed it up. Macedonians fix boilers in Germany now. The Brits ought to start learning ChineseAdapted from his Edinburgh Fringe show, Vlad discusses immigration, his cultural and personal observations as a millennial Eastern European living in London, and reflections on his childhood in North Macedonia. Vlad shares his experiences of growing up in Eastern Europe with the threat of Russian expansionism, dubbing Macedonia "future Russia". Oh, and Vlad is also a very decent car washer, and his name is actually 'Vladislav' - inspired by the 1990s hit 'What Is Love?' by HaddawayRadu - Do you know how sad things make you sad? Well, if you focus long enough on them, they do become funny. Come to this show, Radu will show you how it's done.Radu started comedy in Romania, earning the title of the "comedians' comedian." After moving to London, he became a finalist in the English Comedian of the Year and has been crafting his darkly funny, sugar-coated cynicism ever since. Think venomous wit with a glittery twist. He's appeared on BBC, Channel 4, and Comedy Central, and opened for comedy heavyweights like Louie CK and Jim Gaffigan. What they're saying:
"Intelligently subversive" - The Scotsman
"Still making me giggle" - Three Weeks
"The audience loved it, and I think you will too" - CounterCultureUK
"Simultaneously sweet and dark" - ChortleDon't miss it - you'll laugh when you know you shouldn't!Performed in English.
