Led by a qualified teacher with an enhanced DBS check and over 19 years of beekeeping experience, youll gain both practical and theoretical insight into life inside the hive.What to ExpectWe begin with an introduction to honey bees, including the roles of the queen, workers, and drones. Youll be introduced to essential beekeeping equipment and how it is used.Then its time to suit up in full protective bee suits and head into the apiary.Together, we will:Open a live beehive
Spot eggs, larvae, and developing bees
Watch bees emerging from their cells
Learn how bees make honey
Discover how bees communicate through their unique waggle danceRefreshments will be available during your visit.LocationOur beekeeping experiences take place on our family smallholding in Staincross, Barnsley, overlooking the hills towards Penistone in South Yorkshire.Set within 40 acres of countryside, you may also meet our friendly free-range chickens as you explore our working apiary and learn how each jar of honey is produced.Whats IncludedFull bee suit and gloves

Your session is led by an experienced beekeeper with nearly two decades of hands-on experience and a background in teaching. Managing over 40 hives, they are passionate about sharing the craft of beekeeping and helping others discover the importance and wonder of honey bees.Whether you're looking for a memorable day out in Yorkshire, a unique gift, or an introduction to beekeeping, this experience offers something truly special.Spaces are limitedto ensure a safe and personal experience.Most dates sell out quickly, so early booking is recommended.
