Ryan Wang World acclaimed pianist and BBC Young Musician winner - Saturday 26th June 2027We are thrilled and delighted to welcome back such an outstanding pianist - his original concert here at the Goods Shed created such excitement and several standing ovations that it seemed natural to invite him back just as possible.Last time his programme included Mozart, Schubert and Mussorgsky. This time around it includes Brahms, Handel, Schubert and a piece by Florence Price that adapts the spiritual "Sinner, Please Don't Let This Harvest Pass," blending traditional elements of African American hymns and folk songs with the swooning Romantic styles of Chopin and Brahms.Canadian pianist Ryan Wang captivated audiences worldwide when he won BBC Young Musician 2024. His interpretation of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.2 with BBC National Orchestra of Wales at Bristol Beacon, broadcast on BBC Two, Four and BBC Radio 3, was described by The Times as "absolutely cursive, producing drawings where the pencil never leaves the page." His success at the competition at the age of 17 follows an already long list of international prizes and accolades.ProgrammeHandel Keyboard Suite No 1 in B flat major HWV 434
