The UK is globally important for waxcap fungi, and the beautiful, pink ballerina waxcap is a particularly striking example!Waxcaps and other grassland fungi can help to indicate the presence of ancient meadows and species-rich grasslands, providing the opportunity for these rare habitats to be protected into the future.Join us at Wycoller Country Park near Colne to learn about the importance of grassland fungi, site management and identification features.During the day, we'll focus on how to use Plantlife's Waxcap Watch App to survey and record Bowland's waxcaps - no existing fungi ID skills needed!Ballerina waxcaps are one of the 14 Champion Species at the heart of the Forest of Bowland National Landscape's Nature Recovery Plan.
