The Halo Effect

A theatre play exploring the dark sides of looksmaxxing and the manosphere.Once a social outcast, Carter Davis is now an internet sensation through promoting looksmaxxing and The Halo Effect -the idea that one quality like beauty can open doors in all aspects of life.Carter's story runs parallel to that of Dee Murphy, a Dublin single mother whose 14-year-old son idolises him. As Dee uncovers the extreme methods used to create the Halo Effect, she is disturbed by Carter's attitudes towards women, recognising the same
manipulative and misogynistic language her abusive ex-husband once used. The Halo Effect is the winner of the Carlow Little Theatre One Act Playwriting Competition and was developed through
Counterminers As Yet Unscene programme at King’s Head Theatre.
