In this two day workshop, we will introduce you to the print technique of lithography, based on the principle that grease & water dont mix. Traditionally lithographs were made on heavy blocks of limestone, drawn with greasy crayons and processed with gum & acid. This two day masterclass led by Alfons Bytautas will allow you to explore new alternative approaches to lithography, including Kitchen Lino, using aluminium foil and cola to create our litho print. These new approaches make the beautiful mark-making techniques of lithography more accessible and affordable. We will have access to to a press but you can also experiment with printing by hand, useful if you wish to continue using the process at home.
