Threads Community Textile Group

Threads is a wonderful weekly group of friendly people who meet, learn and create creative textile projects. The group is informally led, and responds to the themes of the changing exhibitions and seasons. Welcoming and open to all abilities and experience, everyone brings their own unique skills and perspectives to the table to contributes to the amazing projects and artworks produced.The group have made needle felted creatures for a family trail; they have learnt how to weave while inspired by the gallerys collection of landscape paintings; and created their own installation on the theme of identity, exhibited alongside professional international artists.A limited number of free places are available to our refugee community and individuals seeking asylum or those with Passport to Leisure.
