Reading has a rich and often overlooked legacy of Georgian architecture, from early C18 houses on Castle Street and Church Street, to the Town Hall Assembly Rooms of 1785, the Royal Berkshire Hospital and Eldon Square in the 1830s. The early C19 expansion was especially remarkable, seen in the striking terraces ringing the old medieval centre along King's Road, Queen's Road, London Road, Castle Hill, Russell Street and others. This walk will encompass an architectural tour of Reading's Georgian legacy, starting at the Town Hall and circling around to the east and south of the town centre, and finishing at Holybrook House, Castle Street.Walk length / difficulty / accessibility
