"My subject is war ... and the pity of war ..."
Strange Meetings brings to life First World War soldier and poet Wilfred Owen, who was killed tragically just a week before the war's end.
Though undoubtedly one of the greatest poetic voices of the time, Owen was so much more than just a poet. He was a complex individual, fighting his own internal battles, and struggling to find his true self amidst the chaos of war.
Drawing on his person writings as well as his poetry, this powerful and important piece of theatre illustrates how the man became the soldier, and then how the soldier became the poet.
This is the story of Wilfred Owen told in his own words.
