“Ethereal, expansive and thoughtful ... improvisation at its finest” - UK Jazz NewsAs ever, they will bring a performance that draws on a breadth of contemporary sound worlds to create a lush and enveloping cinematic audience experience.

With improvisation at its core, electronica meets acoustica head on through high energy feats of musical daring alongside spells of contemplative tranquillity in a rollercoaster ride of emotional depth and complexity.

At the heart of this music lies a journey in search of beauty within the human spirit, propelled by bold and strident melodies over sumptuous and textural harmonic soundscapes. They will perform music inspired by their 2023 album, Poiesis, alongside material from their forthcoming recording scheduled for release early next year. Here’s a wee bit more info about each player:Guitarist Haftor Medbøe is Emeritus Professor of Jazz & Improvised Music at Edinburgh Napier University.

He has released 15 albums of original music, performing and recording alongside international artists including Espen Eriksen, Gunnar Halle, Jacob Karlzon and Fabio Giachino.Saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski is arguably Scotland’s most in-demand musician, playing regularly with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Mamma Terra, Federation of the Disco Pimp and New Focus while juggling a hectic schedule as first-choice session musician.Help us offer you more exciting work, by making a donation to Traverse today!
