The Lotus Club: Fukushima in July 2025

Japan Desk Scotland's 14th Fukushima documentary, "Fukushima in July 2025" (2026) will be shown.

At the time of the Fukushima nuclear accident of March 2011, Fukushima University didn't have a research group on nuclear issue or facilities to measure radioactivity, but they have carried out research on environmental radiation and decommissioning the the troubled reactors.

The film also follows Tomioka Town where decontamination work has been carried out, together with evacuees who returned, and newcomers to the area.

The screening will be followed by a discussion.
