Ulster Orchestra: Barry Douglas & Michael Collins

Our relationship with both Barry Douglas and Michael Collins dates from the very start of both musicians’ careers, so it’s a huge pleasure to bring them together for a concert that bursts with energy from the opening by Elena Kats-Chernin to Bartók’s riotous Dance Suite at its close Dvořák’s dark symphonic tone poem The Wood Dove supplies a melodramatic tale of deception and tragedy and to counterbalance this, Douglas performs Schumann’s only piano concerto.
