About
The Edinburgh University Early Music Ensemble is an up-and-coming new ensemble in central Edinburgh.
The Edinburgh University Early Music Ensemble is an up-and-coming new ensemble in central Edinburgh.
Made up predominantly of current and former University of Edinburgh students, the ensemble aims to provide a space to the wider University community for experiencing, appreciating and playing historical music.
With a flexible makeup which includes winds, strings, vocals, percussion and brass, the ensemble's repertoire consists of original arrangements of music from the European Medieval and Renaissance periods.
The instruments used include both authentic reconstructions and more experimental re-imaginings, with the aim of bringing early music back to life and into today's world
