This documentary captures the magic of the Potteries' greatest variety theatre. Designed by the great theatre architect Frank Matcham, the Theatre Royal brought entertainment and star names. This is a compilation of archive films and videos where the theatre was captured on camera - from its theatre days, its time as a Bingo Hall, various re-openings and the final demolition of its wonderful interior and auditorium to create new nightclubs. Reminiscences, memorabilia, re-enactments of famous stars who performed there - and a special appearance by Ken Dodd - all add to the archive film records to create a fitting tribute to "the Potteries' own" Theatre Royal.Getting to the museum and accessFind details about how to get to the museum, where to park and the support we can offer to make your visit accessible and enjoyable.Image Description
