Mahler Symphony No.4 - Oxford Concert Orchestra

Mahler's Fourth Symphony has been a favourite of audiences and orchestras since it's premier in 1901. Though still considerably long and written for large orchestra it is smaller in orchestration and scope than some of his epic symphonic works, allowing the composer to show a more intimate side of the orchestra and displaying the Oxford Concert Orchestra's expressive virtuosity. Alongside the Mahler we will be playing Dvok's Othello overture, the love section of a trilogy titled "Nature, life and love" and an arrangement of Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell by award winning arranger Tom Hardy.
Oxford Concert Orchestra is a non-professional orchestra chosen from outstanding musicians in the university and local community that regularly performs in some of Oxford's best venues including the Sheldonian Theatre and the University Church.
