James Warren and John Baker are the lead vocalists of The Korgis.Formed in Bath in 1978, their first hit was If I Had You (UK 13) in 1979, followed in 1980 by the worldwide smash Everybodys Got To Learn Sometime , a certified modern-day classic which has spawned over 50 cover versions in every musical style imaginable from choral to grunge.
This year it was even used in the soundtrack of Hollywood blockbuster Marty Supreme .James started his musical career in the much-loved and decidedly eccentric British prog rock band Stackridge whose 1973 album The Man In The Bowler Hat was produced by Beatles producer George Martin.John started in Graduate alongside Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith who later became Tears For Fears .
Their first album was produced by Tony Hatch (writer of UK and US Number 1 Downtown) and came within a whisker of having a well-deserved UK hit with Elvis Should Play Ska .Time certainly flies - James and John have now worked together in The Korgis and other musical projects for over 45 years! In this show you will be treated to a delightful selection of their own best-loved compositions alongside inspirational songs from people theyve worked with such as Peter Gabriel, Tears For Fears and Trevor Horn - plus a few nods to the The Beatles , The Everly Brothers , Fleetwood Mac and other life-long influences for good measure. An evening of terrific tunes and extraordinary anecdotes not to be missed. Please note that there is a theatre restoration levy of 1.50 per ticket.
