Classic Music Live - ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

Scottish pianist Alasdair Beatson works prolifically as a soloist
and chamber musician. Notable recent performances include
multiple appearances at London’s Wigmore Hall, performing
as concert soloist with the Nederlands Chamber Orchestra in
Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and in festivals including Bath’s
Mozartfest and Cumnock Tryst.
Polish violinist Maria Wloszczowska is Leader of the Chamber
Orchestra of Europe, recently leading the Orchestra on tour
with Robin Ticciati and Golda Schultz which concluded the season with a performance at the BBC Proms. She is also Artistic
Partner of the Royal Northern Sinfonia.
After completing her studies at the Guildhall School of Music
and Drama she has based herself in Oslo and the UK.
She plays a Stradivarius violin.
Electra Perivolaris is a composer and pianist, from Scotland, of
mixed British and Greek heritage, described as ‘One of a new
generation of female trailblazers’ by BBC Radio 3.
Electra says :- “I am delighted to have been commissioned by
Classic Music Live! Falkirk and Haddington Concert Society to
compose a new work in celebration of their Anniversaries
The piece is for solo piano, to be performed by celebrated
Scottish pianist, Alasdair Beatson. Having composed for
Alasdair before I’m looking forward to showcasing his skills as
a musician, as well as celebrating the meaningful work of both
these wonderful music societies in a piece which will draw
inspiration from the communities of Falkirk and Haddington,
exploring a sense of place in both, linking to the theme of
