Come & Sing Show Tunes with Bishop's Stortford Choral Society at a relaxed and welcoming workshop under the expert direction of Richard Balcombe, award-winning West End, opera and orchestral conductor. During the afternoon you will have the chance to learn or revisit iconic West End and Broadway hits such as Masquerade (Phantom), Do You Hear the People Sing? (Les Mis), Youll Never Walk Alone (Carousel) and Another Day of Sun (La La Land). There'll also be songs from the musicals 'Six' and 'South Pacific'. At the end of the Come & Sing there'll be an opportunity to show off what you've learnt to friends and family in a free informal performance.Richard Balcombe has many credits as an award-winning Musical Director in the West End and on tour. Outside of musical theatre he is now in much demand as an orchestrator and conductor and has been fortunate to work with many of the worlds leading orchestras both in the UK and abroad. He has been a regular contributor to BBC radio and TV for over 30 years, including conducting the BBC Concert Orchestra at the BBC Proms. In an effort to achieve a balanced choir, we have allocated quotas to each voice part. Bishops Stortford has extremely good transport links. It is situated just off Junction 8 of the M11 and has regular train services to and from London and Cambridge. Our Come & Sing venue is 12 mins walk from the station. The nearest car park (2 mins walk from the venue) isNorthgate End Car Park [https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/highways-parking/details-our-car-parks/car-parks-bishops-stortford/northgate-end], CM23 2BA. It's also the cheapest car park in the area! The cost to park for the duration of the Come & Sing would be a whole day tariff at 4.40. Ample parking spaces are usually available.
