He reached the final of First Laugh 2020, New UK Online Comedian of the Year 2020, and the top 12 of Jason Manford's New Act Competition in 2019. Reducing symptoms matters, but recovery is about far more than surviving. It is about rediscovering identity, friendship, belonging, purpose and confidence. Research consistently shows that strong social support and community are among the most important foundations of long-term recovery and powerful protective factors against self-harm and suicide. Combined with challenge, adventure and agency, they create the conditions for lasting healing. That is the philosophy behind Climb 2 Recovery.Today, more than 500 veterans are part of our community, taking part in a fully funded, year-round programme that will deliver around 2,000 activity days in 2026. Demand is growing rapidly, with our community expected to exceed 1,000 members by 2028.Our members don't simply attend a course and go home. They become part of a community that continues to show up for one another long after the adventure ends. Many go on to gain leadership qualifications, volunteer, support others and share their love of the outdoors with family and friends. We call it continuing our service by other means.Remarkably, this life-changing work costs just 125 per person, per day. Every 500 raised fully funds a four-day recovery course for one veteran.For someone who has completed treatment but still feels isolated, disconnected and without hope for the future, those four days can be the beginning of something much bigger. They find friendship, purpose, challenge and something to look forward to. They don't just recover-they return to life.
