A working life in stories, for a cause close to home.
Michael Palin returns to Cadogan Hall with stories from a working life like few others - from Monty Python to Small Prophets, to a world very well-travelled - in aid of a cause he has championed for more than 30 years.
Michael talks us through a career that has travelled further than most: the Flying Circus, the films, the journeys from pole to pole, and Small Prophets, Mackenzie Crook’s BBC comedy and his first television acting role in seven years. Expect the stories you know, a few you don’t, and the warmth that has made him one of Britain’s best-loved storytellers.
Running through it all is a cause close to home. Michael’s father lived with a stammer, and when a specialist centre for children who stammer opened in London in 1993, he gave it his name.
“I know from my father’s experience what a profound effect stammering can have on a person and on a family.” Michael Palin
All proceeds from this evening go to the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering, which helps children, young people and adults who stammer through specialist, individually tailored therapy.
