Rvw: Valiant For Truth

Celebrating 30 Years of The Cranmer Company of Singers, Director of Music Deborah Davies conducts the choir and the Cranmer Chamber Orchestra in an exploration of the life and music of Ralph Vaughan Williams. Scripted by Brean Hammond, author of the widely performed musical play Master Byrd the first half of this dramatic evening explores a remarkable English composers life and art in sounds, words and images. In the second half, Brean Hammond plays the part of RVWs great friend and fellow composer Gerald Finzi. On his deathbed, Finzi reveals information about RVW that provides an unfamiliar and surprising portrait of the great man. And youll be doing some hymn singing yourselves!
