Soil is a searing absurdist take on modern relationships.
Haunted by infertility, a young couple attempt to keep a house plant alive.A theatrical exploration of what happens when communication crumbles, tackling modern gender roles, men's mental health and womens rage. With a playful experimental structure, and tightly written characters, this is striking new writing.A debut play by Leeds conservatoire graduate and Yorkshire writer Alexis Starke, soil was written as part of a national theatre play writing programme and went through exciting development at scratch nights - foundations (Wakefield) and arts at the arms (Kirklees/Leeds), before debuting on stage at origins at seven arts (Leeds)
