Madama Butterfly

Ukrainian National Opera presents one of the world’s most beloved operas, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.
A stunning semi-staged production by Ukraine’s Dnipro Opera, Puccini’s masterpiece is a timeless story of love, devotion and sacrifice. Set in Japan at the turn of the 20th century, the opera follows Cio-Cio-San, a young geisha who gives up everything for love. Her marriage to the American naval officer Pinkerton offers dreams of happiness and a new future, but her unwavering faith and devotion lead to one of opera’s most heartbreaking conclusions.
Featuring some of Puccini’s most beautiful and famous music, including ‘One Fine Day’, the ‘Love Duet’ and the ‘Humming Chorus’, Madama Butterfly remains one of the most powerful and emotionally affecting works ever written for the stage.
With magnificent costumes, outstanding soloists, and a live orchestra, this semi-staged concert version of Madama Butterfly promises an unforgettable evening of beauty, drama, and music.
