Directed by Nicola McCartneyA verbatim drama retelling the events of a local Glaswegian community coming together to stop a dawn raid.On May 13th 2021, two men were forcibly removed from their home in Kenmure Street and thrown into the back of an immigration van.Within the hour, thousands came to block the van from leaving, leading to an eight-hour stand-off between the police and peaceful protestors, before the two men were eventually let out and freed.Using conducted interviews, news reports and eyewitness film footage, Kenmure Street retells the events of that momentous day five years on, exploring the power and resilience of community action.Captioned performance on Wed, 13 May.Co-presented with Aberdeen Performing Arts.
