Orchestra Mambo International

After two years since their last performance at Howard Assembly Room, the UK's top mambo/classic salsa ensemble Orchestra Mambo International returns to the venue on Friday 18th September to launch their debut album "¡APUNTALO!".

With an early doors salsa dance class from Sabroso Dance Company, plus UK salsa legend DJ Lubi on the decks, expect a hot night of classic mambo, salsa and Afro-Cuban jazz to make even the two left feet crowd dance!Formed in winter 2022 by Lubi Jovanovic (DJ Lubi) and trombonist Jonny Enright (Grupo X), Orchestra Mambo International play classic Latin dance music - mambo, salsa, son Cubano, cha cha cha, Afro-Cuban jazz - inspired by music legends such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Machito, Eddie Palmieri and the Fania Allstars.

Heavy rhythms, hot brass, firing solos.

Tonight, they'll play a mix of original compositions from their debut album, alongside some mambo and salsa classics by Tito Puente and Celia Cruz.They are launching their debut album "¡Apuntalo!", and kicking off their 15 date UK tour to promote it.Support comes from top UK mambo/salsa dance group Sabroso Dance Company.

As they often do at Orchestra Mambo International shows, they'll be jamming onstage with the band.

Plus this time, Marie-Claire and Leandro from the group will be teaching a beginners/improvers salsa dance class early doors.
