Sarah Sepe: Garden Perspectives

Sarah Sepe is a mixed media artist whose practice encompasses printmaking, drawing, painting, installations and textiles.She entered Colonnade House's 'Creativity Continues' exhibition earlier this year and won a prize – a week's exhibition in Gallery Two.

Her entries were small 3D explosions of flowers made of paper, paint, wire and pins and these have been the catalyst for a new body of work which is still evolving.This exhibition showcases pieces and 'test pieces' made in her studio upstairs at Colonnade House.

Work made with no end in sight, a continuum of exploring and discovering, testing materials and thoughts in the safety of the studio space.The idea behind the body of work is to capture fleeting moments (both real and memories of moments) in gardens: taking the emotion of being in the garden, working there and relaxing there, back to the studio.

Plants in a garden find their own space, growing as they can amid other plants and man made constraints, responding to the environment and adverse or beneficial conditions.

Gardens can be a place of beauty, but also a powerful space of creativity, care and connection with nature.In this exhibition you will see the results of Sarah's haptic explorations over the summer months, new work from her new studio.
