Garden Afternoons with Teddy Bear's Picnic at Copped Hall

This Garden Afternoons us rather special today. There is a big surprise in the garden as the Copped Hall Teddy Bear family are enjoying their summer picnic. If you are nice, the family might allow you and your own Teddy to have your picture taken with them. Bring your own Teddy Bear or cuddly toy and join in the fun, while eating our delicious tea, cakes and biscuits from the Racquets Court.Children and Teddy Bears (or other soft toys) come for free.This special Garden Afternoon also provides an opportunity for grown-ups to wander around the Gardens, Walled Garden and the Site of Earlier Houses at your leisure and talk to our volunteer gardeners. A map with a brief description of the gardens is provided on arrival. Refreshments will be available in the Racquets Court. Our second-hand Bookshop will be open as well as other items from the Copped Hall Shop for sale. Plants, seasonal fruit and vegetables may be available for sale from the Walled Garden.Dogs are welcome in the grounds of Copped Hall, provided they are kept on a lead. Assistance dogs only are allowed in the Racquets Court, but dogs are not allowed in the Mansion.Gardens - including the site of Earlier Houses and Walled Garden. The Mansion will be closed, except for access to the toilet facilities. Gardens are undulating/uneven lawn surfaces with some paths on a sloping site. The Walled Garden is also on a sloping site. There is very limited access currently for wheelchair users.
In order to be a bit more environmentally friendly we would ask everyone to bring their own bags when buying plants and produce from the Walled Garden.Gates are open from 2.00pm with last entry at 4.00pm. The park will close at 5.00pm and the car park will be closed at 5.15pm.
