Craig Brown Satirist, humourist and biographerBest known for his four decades of satirical writing, most regularly since 1989, in his parodic Private Eye Diaries, Craig Brown is also an award-winning biographer. His biographies of Princess Margaret (Maam Darling); Queen Elizabeth II (A Voyage Around The Queen) The Beatles (One Two Three Four) have won awards and sold phenomenally. He is the author of 18 books in total and a prolific journalist so much so, that he is the only person to win three different types of Press Awards in the same year for best humourist, columnist and critic.
This event will also feature readings from his parodies, from both Craig, A.N. Wilson and Dame Harriet Walter. Questions can be submitted to Craig in advance by e-mail to questions@torbayliteraryfestival.co.uk and he will be signing books at the end of the event.
I honked so loudly the man sitting next to me on the train dropped his sandwichIn my wilder moments, I wonder if he hasnt reinvented the biographical form. Rachel Cooke, Observer
