Following their exceptional performance in 2025 we are delighted to welcome back this duo with a new repertoire. Prize-winning Catalan cellist Gerard Flotats - winner of the Royal Over-Seas League Strings Competition, has been selected for the Tillett Debut, Philip & Dorothy Green Young Artists, and Munster Trust recital schemes. His recent engagements include concerts at the Wigmore Hall, Manchester Bridgewater Hall, Kings Place, and the Pierre Boulez Saal. He is passionate about showcasing lesser-known pieces and collaborates with composers to introduce contemporary music to new listeners. Gerard plays on an Amati cello from the 1680s.
Julian Chan has performed at numerous prestigious venues and recently was awarded First Prize and Sonata Prize at the Nanyang International Music Competition, Singapore, Second Prize at the Jazeps Vitols International Piano Competition, Latvia, the Royal Over-Seas League Collaborative Piano Award, First Prize at the Norah Sande Award, and First Prize at the Coulsdon and Purley Festival with his performance of Rachmaninoffs Third Piano Concerto.
This concert is kindly supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Saint Boniface Concert Society is a local charity dedicated to bringing top-flight classical musicians to play in Crediton. We are grateful for ongoing support from 'Making Music' and from Crediton Town Council.
