Eddie Gripper Band

Were delighted to welcome Eddie Gripper back to St Marys. Last year, Eddie performed as guest pianist with the Jack Pearce Quintet if you were lucky enough to attend that concert, youll already appreciate what a virtuouso eddie is!
This June, Eddie joins us with his own jazz band. Touring to support their new Album Americana the band will perform original material written after an eye-opening tour of the United States in 2022.
The album is, in fact, a personal account of Eddies six-week journey: living in motels, camping on roadsides, and catching lifts with people of every background imaginable. Its a reflection on the American spirit the warmth, optimism, and generosity of its people but also a glimpse into a more fractured reality where drugs, homelessness, and poverty are ever-present. The pieces on this album capture snapshots of that experience: a broad yet honest reflection of Eddies time in America.
