Freckfest presents Cole Stacey.Cole Stacey is a visceral and lyrical songwriter, singer and musician who's versatility as a performer has taken him from The Royal Albert Hall to a 14th century castle in Gdansk, from Manchester Central Library to The Westfalenhalle Arena, from festivals in Johannesburg to live sessions on BBC Radio 5 Live. With more than a decade-long association with Midge Ure and India Electric Company he has roamed the highest echelons of British folk through to 80s synth pop.Often using unique places as part of his creative framework, Cole records and performs in remarkable spaces, from medieval jailhouses and Victorian clay factories to 11th-century former priories, treating buildings as collaborators rather than backdrops.

His music grounds listeners in timeless sound and emotion, inviting reflection, connection, and a sense of continuity with what endures. His first solo offerings, including an acoustic re-imagining of Fade To Grey, catapulted him to the Top 10 in the UK Charts and to numerous sold-out shows in unique locations, including UNESCO world heritage sites and Elizabethan churches.

Hailing from a small Devonshire village that is tricky to pronounce, Cole's extraordinarily broad musical horizons continue to expand, but his work is firmly rooted in exploring shared human experience - how words, stories and songs resonate across time.
