The North East, and indeed Newcastle itself, is stuffed to the brim with legends of dragons, wizards, vampires (yes, really), saints, witches, and Border Reivers.

Even Queen Mab herself and King Arthur make an appearance in a story or two.

Given the long and tumultuous history of the region, the presence of such legends is no surprise - our heroes walk tall, whether they're armed with a musket or a simple shovel.
