Carter Sampson.The self-crowned 'Queen of Oklahoma,' Carter Sampson is an Okie-born singer/songwriter with a big voice and a free spirit to match. Blessed by a musical family legacy that includes talents like Roy Orbison, her journey from experimenting with sound at age 15 has matured into the dedicated and passionate performance that has made her a firm favourite with Americana audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Carter's hushed, heartfelt songwriting and commanding stage presence have earned her a string of prestigious accolades, including first place in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest one of Americana music's most coveted prizes and a top 5 finish in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Contest.Her 2016 album Wilder Side received widespread international attention, reaching No. 3 on the Euro Americana year-end chart, while her six studio albums including her most recent release GOLD have cemented her reputation as one of the most consistently compelling voices in American roots music.Averaging around 220 shows a year across the US and beyond, Carter tours nationally and internationally, playing both solo and with her trio and band.
